Let us begin by saying that everyone at Berkeley Hearing Center hopes you had a safe, happy and healthy holiday experience.
We know that most of us have had to adapt our celebrations this year, but we’re looking forward to hearing all your stories when we speak with you next!
While the last year has been challenging for all of us, we are hopeful and optimistic that our year ahead is going to be better in many ways.
What Have You Missed Most?
Time and time again, the thing that people tell us they miss is being with other people. Whether out at a restaurant, going to concerts and sporting events, or just hanging out in backyards, we all just miss being with each other.
Fortunately, effective vaccines are being distributed nationwide (and worldwide), meaning that one day soon, we will all be able to meet up with friends and loved ones safely.
However, throughout the pandemic, the team has also revolutionized the way we operate to bring you a range of safe, secure, low to no-contact care options, no matter the situation.
Whether seeing people outside in our parking lot or backyard patio, using telehealth for video conferencing, and remote adjustments, there are now more ways to get expert compassionate hearing healthcare solutions than ever before.
That being said, we can’t wait to see our office full of people once again – hopefully later this year. Until then, please stay safe, follow the best practices for staying healthy, and let’s all take care of each other.
If you would like to book an appointment or find out more about how we can assist you, call our friendly team at 510-841-0681.
Updates from The Office
During November, we ran our seasonal “Hear for the Holidays” giveaway where one very lucky & deserving winner received our gift of hearing!
We had so many wonderful submissions that we are offering some special runner-up prizes to several other deserving nominees.
Stay tuned to find out the winner, including their experience with their new hearing aids and the other nominees, in a future newsletter.
The other big news in the office is that Jonathan, Jessa, and John have all received their first dose of the Moderna vaccine for COVID-19.
We are so grateful to be able to care for our patients, and the vaccine will enable us to continue safely doing the work that we do.
We appreciate all of the scientists, healthcare workers, and people who have helped distribute the vaccines as we all look forward to moving beyond this pandemic.
A Breakthrough For Tinnitus Sufferers?
New research, reported in Science Daily, suggests that when specialists combine sound and electrical stimulation of someone’s tongue, it can reduce the symptoms of their tinnitus!
This is one of the many ways that scientists are doing all they can to improve the lives of those with this common hearing condition.
The American Tinnitus Association shows that nearly 50 million Americans suffer from the conditions.
On top of this, instances of tinnitus have risen during the pandemic, with studies showing that more people are finding problems now than ever before.
Any breakthrough is fantastic for those with conditions, and we look forward to implementing any newly approved treatment techniques in the future.
But the good news is that there are ways to address tinnitus now, and our specialists use incredibly advanced products & procedures to help people every day!
If you have any concerns about tinnitus or have recently noticed a problem, please don’t hesitate to call our team, and we’ll help you move forward.
