It’s fair to say that 2020 hasn’t been the easiest year for communities right across Berkeley, and the hard of hearing have been particularly impacted.
Nonetheless, the holidays are approaching – and this is a time when everyone should enjoy special moments with their loved ones.
That’s why during November, we’re running a brand-new competition, “Hear for the Holidays”!
Through this, one person will receive a complimentary pair of hearing aids, letting them enjoy fantastic hearing for the holiday season and beyond!
How do you enter?
During “Hear for the Holidays,” we’ll be accepting your nominations for local people who could benefit from hearing technology.
As a result, if you have a friend, loved one, or co-worker who has ever mentioned that they’re concerned about a hearing loss, now is the time to put their name forward!
To do this, you’ll just need to fill out a simple form on our website – providing a few details about your nominee and explaining why they deserve to win!
The competition will close at the end of November, and a few days after, the team will contact the winner with the fantastic news.
They’ll then be invited to a comprehensive hearing assessment, where either Jonathan or Jessa will measure their hearing and fit them with their new devices.
We wish you the best of luck!
Updates From The Office
Although it probably won’t be the same as last year, we hope you have an awesome Thanksgiving with your loved ones!
Just to remind you, the center will be closed on November 26, so if you require an appointment or supplies close to that date, please let us know in advance.
In addition, with an eye on 2021, now is a great time to take a second look at your insurance coverage to see if there any developments.
You may find that you have new benefits that you can take advantage of! We’ll happily look into your plan for you if you’d like an expert perspective on this.
Back in Black: How AC/DC’s Lead Singer Overcame
a Hearing Loss
In 2016, world-famous rock band AC/DC had a significant problem on their hands.
Their lead singer of 36 years, Brian Johnson – known for his vocals on the smash hit “Back in Black” – was struggling to find the right notes due to a hearing loss.
He subsequently left the band halfway through a world tour on the advice of his doctor, who told him he might completely lose his hearing if he completed it.
“It was pretty serious,” Johnson admitted to Rolling Stone in a recent interview. “I couldn’t hear the tone of the guitars at all. It was a horrible kind of deafness.”
However, like so many people, the singer didn’t lose hope, and instead, he asked a professional audiologist to help him solve his issue.
Over a three-year period, Johnson accepted various experimental treatments, and finally, in 2018, news broke that he had begun playing and recording with AC/DC again.
Johnson’s story demonstrates the potential that hearing technology has to change a life when someone turns to a hearing care expert!
