Enjoy Advanced Hearing Care From the Comfort
of Your Home or Office

Today’s world is changing at a rapid pace and some of the latest advancements in technology have allowed us to enjoy luxuries such as grocery shopping without needing to physically go to the store, and personal interactions with some of our favorite brands and celebrities.

The recent Coronavirus outbreak has meant that some of these advancements in technology, and the conveniences that they offer, has never been more crucial.

At Berkeley Hearing Center, we’ve been quick to adapt and are excited to bring you a new type of hearing healthcare – Tele Audiology – that allows you to receive the same advanced and personalized care from a doctor of audiology without having to leave the comfort of your home or office.

What is a Tele Audiology?

Rather than having to travel to our hearing center in Berkeley, CA, you can enjoy the same face-to-face conversations you would usually have with your audiologist in person, but instead use video calling technology through your cell, tablet, or home computer.

This means that you no longer have to travel to your appointment, saving you time and keeping you safe if you struggle to travel due to health reasons.

You might need a Tele Audiology appointment to discuss a challenge you are having with your hearing or to get support with your hearing aids. And the best part about it is, if you own the latest hearing aid devices, they feature built-in remote programming capabilities, so we’re often able to adjust your settings and program remotely, too.

4 Easy Steps

Invisible-In-Canal (IIC)

If you have mild to moderate hearing loss, then IIC hearing aids are a viable style choice. The most unique feature of IICs is their deep insertion into the ear canal. Depending on your ear shape, they’re often invisible when worn; a huge advantage for the style-conscious wearer.

Completely-In-The-Canal (CIC)

The CIC hearing aid can be a great option for mild to severe hearing loss with cosmetic concerns. They are mostly invisible and a bit more powerful than the smaller IIC option.

In-The-Canal (ITC)

Another option for patients with mild to severe hearing loss is the ITC hearing aid. Because of its slightly larger size, it uses size 312 batteries, allowing wireless capabilities for smartphone streaming.

In-The-Ear (ITE)

Mildly severe to severe hearing loss patients might find ITE hearing aids to their liking. They feature a sleek design, which fits perfectly to the outer entrance to the ear canal. They are incredibly comfortable to wear, offer maximum hearing coverage, and are available in a variety of colors, custom made to match your skin tone.

Behind-The-Ear (BTE)

Severe to profound hearing loss patients usually require the additional performance capabilities of behind-the-ear hearing aids. Although it’s not invisible, this instrument is more streamlined and lighter weight than its predecessors. Its technology is housed in the casing of these hearing aids, placed behind the ear while the clear plastic acoustical tube sends the amplified sounds into a customized earmold fitted inside the ear canal.

Receiver-In-The-Canal (RIC)

RIC style hearing aids are the most versatile hearing instrument on the market as well as a firm favorite among many audiologists. The receiver or speaker inserts into the ear canal for better sound quality and near invisibility. RIC units provide an easy in-office repair solution or an amplification upgrade should your hearing loss condition worsen.
